Golf Course Update

Well as the summer weather is slowly starting to dissapate the avid golfers are still trying to get in the occasional round of golf anywhere they can.  I myself have only made it out once this year, and am hoping to make it out at least once more, just to say that I golfed twice this year.

On my last trip out to Narrows West, I got a tour of the golf course and was absolutely amazed by the progress that has been made on the golf course.  Although you can’t see it from the road, there is going to be a really nice golf course up at the Narrows when it is completed.  I got toured around on an atv so that we had access to the entire front nine, and was impressed to see that all fairways are cleared and sculpted.  The construction crew is was hard at work doing some final clearing and cleaning up before the snow flies so that come spring the fairways will be ready to be seeded. 

The driving range will be ready for some use next year, with it being completely cleared and mowed and will have a beautiful view of the lake, and the hotel as it starts to develop as well.  We are hoping to get some overhead shots of the course so the people will actually be able to see the progress, instead of just hearing about it, as you can not see it from the actual road.

The water is continuing to recede which is also really nice to see, and we are actually starting to see the spots where the beach used to be, and with such hot weather this summer lots of things have started to dry up, and work is able to be done.

As winter approaches there is still a game night in Gibson’s Lounge every Wednesday, which includes X Box, board games etc so come out and enjoy the fun.  Friday is still Karaoke night as well, if any avid singers would like to join in.
